I am thrilled to announce the launch of 40 Women Over Forty to Watch in partnership with Christina Vuleta, founder of 40:20 Vision and 7×7 Mentoring Salon, as well as Managing Director, Perks Consulting.

Forty Over 40

Christina and I share a commitment to female mentorship and personal reinvention. As we compared notes on daring to dream and the exchange of 40-something wisdom, we found we also shared the conviction that women in their 40's and onwards reach new levels of creativity, clarity and confidence. Yet much of this 40-something blossoming goes unnoticed. It’s a case of the invisible woman syndrome. While Forbes celebrates the 20-somethings who are visionaries impatient to change the world, there’s a cadre of 40 women quietly changing the world. I’m certain you know one of them and hope you will nominate them here!

Our purpose is to step change the awareness that over forty is not “past your prime” but in fact when many women come into their most productive era. Help us inspire these under-the-radar 40-something women to persist in their achievements and provide women in their 20s and 30s with role models that feel within their reach.

We are scouring the world with an open nomination call for women who innovators, role-models and makers, creating momentum and changing the world.  We have assembled a high-caliber judging panel with a mix of men and women and age ranges hailing from the tech, entrepreneurial, media and corporate world to cull down the list to the top 40 Women Over 40 to Watch.

Nominations will be accepted from April 3rd – April 30th with the final list being launched in mid-June.

Who do you know who you can’t wait to see what’s next …because you just know it’s going to be good?  We have defined some characteristics to help identify those women who at over 40 show signs indicating that their greatest achievements are ahead of, not behind, them:

How is this person upending things professionally, whether in business, tech, media, entrepreneurship, social good, science, academics, creative arts, or politics?

How is this woman a positive role model to younger women: innovating around work/life issues; promoting women for leadership?

How has this person undergone personal disruption?

Spread the word. Nominate yourself. Nominate a woman you think is worth watching.

You can find us on Facebook and through our webpage and share your nomination on Twitter with #40over40 hashtag.

Looking forward to an exciting next few months as we kick this into high gear.
